North Carolina Nursing Home Education Requirements:
60 semester hours; 96 quarter hours - completion of prescribed course in basic nursing home administration. Two years of supervisory experience in a nursing home may be equated to one year of college.

Program: BACHELOR'S, TWO MASTER'S, TWO DOCTORAL CONCENTRATIONS
The University of North Carolina offers the long-term care administration concentrations in the Bachelor of Science of Public Health, at the undergraduate level, and Master of Science in Public Health and Master's in Health Care Administration degree at the graduate level. Both masters degrees require 51 hours over a two year period. The Bachelor's degree is a standard 120 hour degree. Internships done simultaneously under the university and the state licensing board, together with the long term care administration concentration in each of these degrees qualifies graduates to sit for the state board licensure exam in North Carolina.
