Program: ASSOCIATE
Nursing home administration is the sole area of emphasis in the Associate of Applied Science degree program of study intended to meet Nebraska Department of Health requirements for licensure as a nursing home administrator. The program includes courses in general education, accounting, and business administration, in addition to the specialized Health Care Administration courses required by the Nebraska Department of Health. In addition, students complete four months of training (totaling 720 hours) in a long-term care facility under the supervision of a selected administrator in conjunction with a Central Community College field experience coordinator.

An Associate of Applied Science Degree option is also offered.

Program: CERTIFICATE, BACHELOR'S, MASTER'S, DOCTORAL
The University of Nebraska Omaha Department of Gerontology offers the Certificate in Gerontology at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, as well as a Master of Arts in Social Gerontology degree, and staffs a specialty area in Gerontology within an interdisciplinary doctoral program. Those who wish to qualify for certification as a nursing home administrator in the State of Nebraska may select certain specific courses and complete an Administrator-in-Training field placement of 960 contact hours.
