Program: BACHELOR'S, MASTER'S
The University of Kentucky offers a concentration in long-term care administration in both the Bachelors in Health Science in Health Administration program (120 hours) and the Masters in Health Administration (51 hours). A Gerontology Certificate is also offered for graduate students through Sanders-Brown Center on Aging consisting of 15 credit hours, including an independent project, as part of a specific graduate program. The bachelors program includes a required six month long-term care practicum. Upon completion of one of these programs the student is eligible for nursing home administrator licensure exam offered by the State.

Western Kentucky University offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Care Administration and a Master in Health Care Administration. Nursing home specific information is contained within regular courses. Approximately 50% of graduates secure positions in long-term care administration. Long-term care administration specific courses are both required in the program as well as being taught across the curriculum.
