The Des Moines Area Community College offers a Long Term Care Administrator certificate for students with prior degrees who desire eligibility to sit for Nursing Home Administrator Licensure.

HELATH CARE ADMINISTRATION ASSOCIATE IN SCIENCE DEGREE The Des Moines Area Community College offers an Associate of Science degree Health Care Administration. Students completing the associates degree will transfer into a four year institution to complete a bachelor and be eligible to sit for Nursing Home Administrator Licensure. The Health Care Administration program at Des Moines Area Community College has developed articulations with several universities to meet the needs of the student.

Program: ASSOCIATE OF SCIENCE DEGREE
Iowa Lakes Community College offers an Associate of Science degree for persons who complete 68 semester hours including 25 semester credits of general education requirements in addition to the specialty area of nursing home administration. This career option program is designed to prepare persons for licensure as nursing home administrators in Iowa. It is primarily for adults with previous work experience, ideally in the field of health or business. Concepts and knowledge gained in the program are applied to the specifics of health care administration, including human relations and services, community resources, financial control, physical plant and equipment, federal and state requirements, and other legal considerations.

Program: BACHELOR'S, MASTER'S, GRADUATE CERTIFICATE
The University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences offers a bachelor's degree (120 credit hours), a graduate certificate (28 credit hours) and a master's degree (40 credit hours) with an emphasis in Long-Term Care Administration. The emphasis area combines existing health care administration courses and special long-term care electives. This prepares persons for licensure as a nursing home administrator in Iowa.
