Program: CERTIFICATE, MASTER'S DEGREE

The University of Alabama at Birmingham offers a Master in Health Services Administration and a combined MSHA-M.B.A. degree -- both with a Graduate Certificate in Gerontology available as an option. Students choosing this option use (all) their electives to complete the certificate requirements below. The MSHA degree requires fifteen months of academic coursework, and nine months administrative residency.

The Graduate Certificate program is administered through the Gerontology Education Program and the Center for Aging at UAB as an option in the Master in Health Services Administration degree program.

Certificate requires fifteen hours of graduate-level work in geriatrics with at least B in each class. The curriculum is two required classes, two elective classes and a research project.
